We would rather be useful and honest about the limits than reassuring and wrong. This page sets out where our numbers come from and what they are worth.

Estimates are estimates

Landed-cost estimates, duty figures and transit times are calculated from the information you give us and the rates in force when we prepare them. Duty rates, tariff schedules, fuel surcharges and carrier timetables change, sometimes without notice and sometimes retrospectively. An estimate is not a quotation binding on any authority and it is not a guarantee of the final amount payable.

We publish no duty percentages or tariff rates on this website, deliberately. Any figure you see quoted as current would be out of date sooner than we could correct it. We calculate the applicable duties as part of your estimate instead.

Customs outcomes are not ours to promise

We prepare and file export documentation accurately and completely, and we will tell you when something in a consignment looks likely to attract scrutiny. What we cannot do is promise an outcome. Clearance, inspection, valuation, duty assessment and release are decisions of the customs authority at origin and destination. No forwarder can guarantee them, and you should treat anyone who does with suspicion.

No professional advice

Nothing on this website or in our correspondence is legal, tax, customs-broking or financial advice. Guidance on HSN classification, IEC or GST registration, labelling requirements or marketplace rules is offered in good faith from operational experience. For anything that turns on your specific circumstances, take professional advice.

Third parties

Carriers, aggregators, contract manufacturers, testing laboratories and marketplaces are independent businesses. We select them with care and manage them actively, but we do not control them. Their performance, terms and liability limits are their own.

Marketplace names on this site — Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and others — are the trade marks of their owners, used to describe where you can sell. Nothing here implies endorsement by or affiliation with them.

Technology

The portal is supplied as-is. It is not warranted to be uninterrupted or error-free, and the party that builds it carries no liability for goods or shipments. That limit, and the indemnity behind it, is set out in full on the Technology Provider page.

Availability

PGM Distributors does not warrant that this website or the portal will be available without interruption. Rating runs from a rate card held in the portal rather than a live carrier API precisely so that quoting survives an aggregator outage — but planned maintenance and unplanned downtime both happen.
